World Mental Health Day
On the 10th of October every year, people worldwide consolidate their efforts to promote mental health worldwide because it is of utmost importance in preparing human beings and empowering them to contribute positively to the development journey. The topics addressed by the global agenda concerning the issue of mental health promotion vary; however, all relevant matters are considered essential and have priority in preserving and protecting human beings against behavioral diseases and depression, especially among children and adolescents.
On this World Mental Health Day, there is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of focusing on mental health issues and developing programs and plans to reduce the number of people suffering from mental and psychological disorders. The authorities and organizations are interested in public health, as mental health is integral to individual health, mainly since many physical diseases result from sadness and depression.
Psychological disorders prevail worldwide and appear at all stages of life and in different cultures, as such conditions would cause many disabilities. Therefore, good mental health enables the individual to enjoy safe living and psychological peace, be able to face the pressures of life and make decisions, as well as enhance abilities, and enables the individual to build social relationships and interact positively with the surrounding world. We shall take care of promoting mental health and well-being for all as a global priority to ensure building a society of healthier individuals having the ability to give and involve in the development journey.
In the context of the efforts exerted by the health authorities, greater attention must be paid to mental health and meeting the needs of those who have a mental illness, whether by treatment and follow-up or by educating those around them to know how to deal with them and avoid pushing them to suffer from a more psychological severe illness that destroys their lives.
Therefore, it is necessary to think about exploring innovative treatments and diversifying the care provided to people with these disorders, and expanding the scope thereof.
It is also necessary to intensify efforts towards promoting awareness and educating people about the importance of mental health and the way to be adopted by the family. To maintain its children's mental health by creating a stable family environment and trying to avoid family problems that afflict family members, especially children and adolescents who are the most vulnerable victims of such problems.
The individual's social environment, whether in the family, school, or work environment, plays a significant role in spreading mental disorders, as mental health is affected by social, economic, biological, and environmental factors.
Hence, increasing the attention of individuals, governments, and local communities towards mental health and then taking measures that would achieve goals in line with the needs of individuals and protect them against psychological disorders. In addition, by working to raise awareness in homes, schools, workplaces, and the wider community to cover mental health and provide the necessary care to those facing these problems, we can help them and bring them back to social life in a way that ensures that they continue on the path of development without fail or exclusion.
