Under the gracious patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Nation,” Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and under the directives of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy and Chairwoman of both Abu Dhabi Ladies Club and Al Ain Ladies Club, the Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy announced the organization of the International Women’s Bowling Championship from 11 to 14 June, along with the opening of a new bowling hall at the academy’s headquarters.

In a statement issued today, the academy confirmed that the inauguration of the new hall reflects the vision of the UAE’s wise leadership to provide an integrated sports environment that encourages women to participate in sports, motivates them to adopt a healthy and balanced lifestyle, and ensures the availability of modern and comprehensive sports facilities for women in accordance with the highest technical and organizational standards approved in the sport of bowling.

The academy highlighted the continuous and significant support of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for women, as well as her commitment to strengthening their role, empowering them, and advancing their journey across various fields through facilities, programs, and initiatives that enrich their presence in sports, culture, and society.

It added that the new hall represents a qualitative addition to the academy’s facilities, having been designed according to the highest international standards recognized in bowling, equipped with the latest technical facilities and modern operating systems to ensure a comprehensive sporting experience for players. The hall is also distinguished by being dedicated exclusively to women.

The academy further noted that the inaugural edition of the championship in the new hall will be held in cooperation with the UAE Bowling Federation and the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with the participation of more than 50 players from within and outside the UAE. Participants will include members of the national team, athletes of determination, and internationally ranked bowlers from various levels, competing in both individual and team events. The championship aims to support the development of women’s sports and forms part of the annual calendar of tournaments and sporting events organized by the academy.
