On the occasion of Mother’s Day

Emirati women and mothers have accomplished many achievements since the establishment of the Union.

She stressed that the founders of the nation supported the development, education, socio-conomic development, and political participation of women.

She added that Emirati women and mothers have accomplished many goals, thanks to the support of the UAE leadership, who followed the footsteps of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

She congratulated mothers in the UAE and in the Arab world, and stressed that the mothers in the UAE have maintained their role in raising their children based on original Arab traditions and the values of national loyalty and tolerance, to raise a generation capable of leading the UAE’s future towards development and growth.

Sheikha Fatima noted that UAE national mothers are icons of giving, and happiness and work continuously to empower women and raise children while highlighting that they have set an example for the women on their journey for global empowerment.

She added that the main achievement of the women and mothers in the UAE is that they have preserved Arab, Islamic and human values, achieving the historic saying of the late Sheikh Zayed, who said, "I am confident that Arab women in our country will recognise the importance of preserving our original traditions derived from Islam. Women are the cornerstone of family development, and families are the basis of community development."

Sheikha Fatima further added that Emirati women have managed to occupy the highest positions, and joined men in all production and work stages to contribute to shaping a prosperous future for the UAE. She called upon mothers to continue fulfilling their fundamental role in raising children and contributing to community development as well.

She highlighted the fact that the UAE leadership has provided for the women in terms of education, training and education opportunities, since the establishment of the country, and were keen to achieve gender equality and women’s empowerment.
